United Nations Security Council

The UN Security Council (UNSC) is a body of the United Nations, and thus is based on the UN Charter. The organ is a major actor for the maintenance of international peace and security. With its five permanent members who hold veto power, the Security Council overlooks anything that is happening in the world that concerns security maintenance and potential threats to peace.

Erenay Karacan

Esteemed participants of EuroMUN, I am glad to greet your as one of the chairpersons of the Security Council. My name is Erenay Karacan, I study Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Technical University of Munich, I have been organizing and moderating MUN conferences for the last 5 years. Alexandros Ballis

I am Alex, I come from Thessaloniki, Greece, but I study Civil Engineering at the RWTH Aachen university. I’ve started MUN 7 years ago and I’ve been more and more passionate about it over the past years. After the pandemic, I am more than happy that I get the chance to chair in a live conference once again and socialize in present. A fun-fact about my MUN journey is that I have been in almost every position possible so far (from admin to judge and from delegate to Secretary-General). Looking forward to meeting you all and having some amazing time.
