Historical Crisis

Crisis is not a traditional UN committee, but rather a MUN-world speciality. Set in the context of a major historical event, delegates will be able to train their strategic and analytical skills when finding creative solutions to crisis situations. Fast-paced and unpredictable, the Crisis committee is a unique opportunity to develop ones’ quick thinking and collaboration skills.

Intermediate Committee

DIRECTOR

Darius Kölsch

Darius is a third-year European Studies student at Maastricht University and incoming War Studies student at King’s College. His MUN journey started in 2020, going through most positions (except for SG), including USG of Academics for EuroMUN 2022! This year he is honoured to work with the other members of the backroom to design a challenging crisis for the delegates. Ideally, it will be even more of a crisis than the organisation! In his free time, he can be found drinking too much tea, working for the Institute for a Greater Europe, and gaming with friends.

CHAIRS

Audrey Verbist

Hello everyone! My name is Audrey, and I’m a 20-year-old Belgian student at Maastricht University College. Studying international relations and law awakened my interest in the world of debating and diplomacy, so I joined the UNSA delegation in Maastricht and participated in various MUNs last year. I am incredibly excited to chair the EuroMUN Crisis Committee and look forward to interesting discussions and unexpected plot twists! See you in 264 BCE

Leire Lopez de Goicoechea

My name is Leire and I am a third-year student of the BA in European Studies at Maastricht University. I come from Spain, but I grew up in Brussels. I was last year part of the Academics team of EuroMUN so I am very excited to chair a committee this year. I started to attend MUN conferences in 2021 and, even though I didn’t like my first crisis experience, we will make sure that you will all have a lot of fun on the committee! I love everything related to security and conflicts, so I was super happy when we decided to have the Punic Wars as topic. In my free time, you will find me drinking too much coffee, running, or just chilling around with my friends.

Lea Röller

Hey everyone! My name is Lea and I’m part of the Crisis Team for EuroMUN 2023! 🇪🇺 I’m originally from Germany but moved to Maastricht for my studies in Economics. I started my MUN journey at TLVMUN in summer 2021 and had the honour of serving as USG Socials for EuroMUN2022! I am more than happy to be part of EuroMUN again and work on making this year’s experience of EuroMUN, and particularly the crisis an unforgettable memory for you!

Julian Schneider

Julian Schneider is a master’s student of Geography at FU Berlin. During his bachelor and first master’s he was a part of UNSA Maastricht and EuroMUN himself over the past couple years, serving as Secretary General of EuroMUN 2021. Since EuroMUN 2018 his MUN journey has encompassed more than 15 conferences, serving as delegate, chair and organizer. He has been part of crisis committees before but this will be the first time directing a crisis. In his free time you can catch him wasting his time online, gaming or on nifty little side-projects. His topics of interest include natural resource management, Madagascar (1), technology, Pitch Perfect (1), climate change, Madagascar (1) and science in general.

Julia Schwarz

Hi there! My name is Julia (she/her) and I am a third-year European Law Student at Maastricht University. I am originally from Hamburg, Germany, and came to Maastricht in 2020. I was part of UNSA’s External Affairs Committee in the past two years and joined EuroMUN as a delegate in 2022. EuroMUN was an amazing first glimpse into MUN life and I am now super happy to be part of the conference and joining the Crisis Team this year. I look forward to meeting you all and having a great time at EuroMUN 2023, rewriting Roman history in the Crisis.

Sofia van Trooijen

Sofia is a third-year International Business student at Maastricht University with a minor in Entrepreneurship. Born in Hong Kong, she moved around every three years and first discovered MUN in high school. From attending conferences as a delegate to organising her high school’s own MUN conference as Secretary General, she looks forward to being a part of EuroMUN as a member of backroom staff! In her free time, you will find her playing Skyrim (again), cooking with her flatmates, and writing for the Maastricht Diplomat.
